This moments special exxclusive interviewee is producer Dubble M. Amongst other things, Dubble M is producing tracks for myself, and happens to be Coppa Kid´s cousin (in his spare time!!) No long tings, straight to the questions....
Questions: 1. So what do you do when your not blazing out beats? I'm very busy! I work as a radio producer at 96.3 Radio Aire in Leeds. I also play football for two different teams. 2.Where do you draw influences from? Absolutely everywhere. Artists such as Al Green, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. I also get influences from people like the Prodigy, Wutang Clan, Snoop, Timbaland, Bill Withers. Get the picture? 3. What makes a good beat? I could go all technical here but I won't! (The sighs of relief!). Basically a good beat is one that the audience can relate to, and if its in a club, one they can move to. 4. Where do you see your self in 5yrs? If you talk to me in 5 years, I'll hopefully be sitting on a stack of successful projects which have managed to reach a worldwide fan base. 5. How did you get started? I've always been interested in the way music is put together. I watched a couple of guys at school making some beats and wanted to give it a go. Bought my first sampler when I was 14 and havent looked back since. Quick Fire 6.Red or Blue? Blue 7. Bush or Blair? Blair 8. Most disliked form of music? Anything that ends in 'Metal' 9. Coppa Album News---- C.O.P.P.A - The Intro

Another update, things are going v.good at the moment... the first promotional single of the Album, is going to be the dancefloor, shott poppin, party track - Another Shott. The video shoot is lined up for 18th-25th of September and will be filmed here in Vienna. With the launch of the single in November- more details on the Launch party as soon as I recieve them. An exclusive amount of copies are going to be available prior for promotional purposes... and will include a special Dance/House club remix, by none other than Galaxy Radio´s young Dj/Producer superstar, Tom Ferguson (Ministry of Sound) .
Also watch (in a country near you) out for the C.O.P.P.A Album release Tour in Spring 2006 - gonna be a live one... oh yeah.

Memorable gigs: Belfast, N. Ireland 2004

Back in Feb 2004 was the first time i´d been to the land they call Ireland- was booked for the Step Birthday Bash for Shimon & Redeye. Having first thought the idea of meeting the boys in Manchester, i realised my time was shorter than first imagined so agreed to drive to and meet them at Liverpool airport from where we would depart. Was a nice day, got abit lost on the motorway towards the airport and ended up on the wrong side of the m62 (Clever!! doh!). Anyways, Coppa, Redeye & High Grade (Rollin Soundz, Manchester), hop on the plane and off we went.
Was a wicked party, place was electric!! Havent seen many a place rock like this one, the crowd were mental (inna good way!) Shimon, Coppa & Redeye blow the vibe to pieces.. . over all was a truely memorable gig.... had Nuff Jokes till the early hours with Chill, Hago, Shimon and peeps.... Calibre´s younger brother was also representing hard till early hours alongside....

Bigups to Chill & Hago, Shimon, Highgrade, Redeye and the whole of belfast..... Keep raving...

Got back 2 days ago from the Gig in Hungary..... 2 things I learned.
1. There is "NUFF" corruption out there on a nationalised scale- Bigups and 2 fingers to the Corrupt Policeman that pulled us over and the foolboy train guard that tried to rip me off on the journey back!
2. Budapest has some of the "BUFFEST" women on the planet. Its official!!

Been back in UK for a week- was supposed to check bare peeps, link spars and hit the old spots- BUT.......! Nah, it nah work dat way. Missed my flight on the monday, had a bulls*it connection to Prague via train... so that got dashed! Finally got the plane next day some long ass Exodus journey but still... touched down on UK soil, and BAM! ILL to the MAX. Throw in some major toothe ache and 1 emergency dentist appointment for a filling, couple of pain killers... nuff said! Spent the rest of my time running round on promo missions, no time fi nuttin else...Wha???!

But one ting was i got a good piece of news.... My boy Cara aka MC Carasel, won the DNB Arena MC Competition. YUPP!! Bruised the competition (we knew he was gonna smack it anyways, but pretended it was a fair fight! lol- gwaarn Cara!)
So Bigups to Cara- 2005-6 gonna be a good year for the midlands mic murker- you also gonna here alot from him on the album project of Coppa this year- Some bigboy collabos on the way.... Stay tuned and stay safe........... BRAPPPP!!! Salute Cara!

Got an American friend over here.. Joe Joe. Joe is originally from Brooklyn and came over to Vienna years back, and couldnt leave (sounds familiar??!). Anyway Joe djs, is a presenter (done some shizzle for MTV!) and hosts a couple of Radio shows on Austria´s national radio station FM4. Most big things in the country that goes down, Joes in it, on it, or presenting it!
Amongst other things, Joe likes a laugh, I mean a BIG laugh... I done a couple of his shows at the station, and they go offff!! We drinking, vibezin etc etc.... and its allways rowdy..

The other day I was speaking to my bredrin online, Stretch from Bradford. Now, we HAD, and I stress, HAD! (coz Coppa bun him off longtime) a mutual aquaintance by the name of MC Damaga, also from Bradford. Now.. raah raah, we used to par together on the mic and do sets and blah wateva. Long story, but we dont work together no more and apparently mans been badminding and ranting "Coppa dis and Coppa dat.... Wuh wuh wuuu"- I think its something to do with the relative position of Coppa and Damaga
I say no more, one is international, professional and succesfull and the other one....well...... hasent being layed in 12 years.....(you guys work out whos who!...lol)............ So anyways, Coppa gotta DUN HIM.... put an end to the raah raah... So we gonna clash.... or i´m gonna clash him and see whats left too clash back...
Stretch aka Audio Kid is gonna provide the riddems, and the "Proffesional" execution will begin.
I have managed to keep civil for my time behind the microphone and off it (s0metimes), but now the bwoy have to remember why they call me Coppa! The infra-red scope is lining you up rudebwoy........ time fi squeeze....

Met him on stage at a club called Flex in Vienna, Coppa kid being Coppa Kid, jumped on stage to join him for the Christmas special...... 3 hours of Back 2 Back stage murking, gyal rocking, party brocking... nuff said. From that point on we vibez together, he featuring on my album project and I bubble thru on his project....

Pingggg!!! Was chatting to my bro online last night, aint seen him for about 7 months with me being in Europe. My bruddah is funny man. Me an him go waaaay back..... way back to the day I was born infact...lol. He a cool bre, for a dude that defected over to Preston a good few years ago.

Coppa on Kitachi Tour of China 2003

2003 as i stated was a good year, a chance meeting with DJ Roobles from Kitachi, lead to my invitation to join him on his tour of China as the MC. Obviously it took me 2 and half seconds "think" about it... And then Boom! Yeah! So we set off from london to handle the bizness abroad. Our tour guide, warned me before we got off the plane.... which was LONG! with a stop off in Finland (WTF!!!) : The people MIGHT stare at you over in China.... lol! I laughed it off as a joke ting.... bwooooy! Got out the airport and it was like the WHOLE COUNTRY was staring at us, people almost falling off bikes and almost crashing cars looking at us. I was informed that many people out there, in some parts, had never seen black people in the flesh before.... yo! dat i can believe... was funny at first, but then it just got BAIT and annoying...lol
Still was a phat tour- rinsed out the venues, the last gig in Shanghai, 2000 heads was ill... it was sponsered by the heads of Pepsi China and some over big dude ( coz it was his birthday or sumptin...lol) . Real pimped out bizness.... got abit dodgy when we were invited to "Gentlemans club" after---- ahem!! another time peeps for that one......

Road trips - 2003-2004

2003 was a good year, managed to get my name out across UK alot, spent nuff time on the road, motorways and tha crew were my best friends.. Bigups to all those who come on road with me during 2003-2004, Edot, Jed2g, Mental, Bishop, NSD, Fade, Shinobi, Jammy - the regulars, and the rest too many to mention! Hit up places as far as Salisbury, Edingburgh and one mad mission down to Bournmouth for the Clipz night- 6hours down- 8 hours back up- 2 hrs an empty club! Nice! And of course Coppa being the militant one, was de main driver on the road tours. MILEAGE!
numerous cars and numerous war/joke stories including the infamous breakdown on the motorway just outside of Nottingham- where the Black Fiat Tipo Injection we were riding in decided to almost explode on the way back up the M1 at 4.30 in the morning.....Edot and Jed decided to bail out.... safe boys! bigups....

Whislt i´m ere...... I gotta let you peeps know about de "Future"--- I aint speaking bout the time that happens to come after the present... nah... I mean "Future".

Future is a friend of mine I met back in UK some years back, we linked up on a music tip and instantly clicked. Future , now back in Kingston, Jamaica for the time being, is a original yard man, with some wicked skills around tha microphone. Anytime we linked on a studio flex it was mayhem, coz like myself, to Future, any beat is any beat, any riddem is any riddem. His was bunning down garage, ragga, hiphop and even some dnb......... pure badness.

Mountain Rave To Raaaaa!!!!!

Title says it all....
Did a rave back in April with Klute and Stirlin (Bare Jokes running) in Carinthia, its a place in Austria just on the Border of Italy, Slovakia and somewhere else i think... anyways.. The location was some madness. After a long drive into the middle of NOWHERE, and I mean NOWHERE, through a big forest and then out the otherside... we pull up to the venue... venue.... lol.... its a raatid mountain!
You have to go down this long as tunnel thing, looking like something live and direct for Lord of tha Rings. Just for the record, Coppa was not "Prang" "Scared" or "Shook" any point of this journey!. Right, cool..... So went down the tunnel about 1 mile (it felt so) and ended up in the venue.... Raaaah!!! The rave was Techno in one Cave and Dnb in the other, so had a mix of dnb headz, crazy techno freeks, BUFF european techno gyal, and your on the borderline of ladyboy techno dudes.... was a interesting (ahem) mix...
Oh yeah! and there was GYAL!!!!! me nah lie!!!!

Tings is going good, you bubbling leaner than usual and then............ BAMM! Theres probably a Million and 10 Coppa in "looking lean mode" or " mid expression moment" photos floating around peoples digi cams, hard disks and websites...... so i thought i would strike first and publish a few of my own i found lyring around....
